About Sagar Kumar
Sagar Kumar is a writer and director based in Bangalore, originally from Shimoga. A B.E. graduate, he worked in the IT industry as an iOS developer for seven years before transitioning fully into storytelling, driven by a deep passion for truth and human narratives. Regardless of the medium, he wishes to be known simply as a storyteller. He firmly believes in the words of Michael Lewis:
“If you learn how to tell a story, it gives you powers you didn’t have in all sorts of places.”
His debut film, Anamadheya Ashok Kumar, received critical acclaim for its bold themes and emotional depth. It achieved the highest rating from Deccan Herald with a score of 4 stars and is currently seeking its place on OTT platforms.
Interrogation marks Sagar’s entry into literary writing. Based on a true incident that took place at the Madiwala Police Station in Bengaluru in June 2021, the novel continues his exploration of real-life experiences, complex human emotions, and the often-blurred lines between justice and truth.
Sagar is especially drawn to amplifying the voices of those who have been silenced, ignored, or forgotten—speaking on behalf of individuals whose stories deserve to be heard. To protect the identity of the victim and avoid unwanted attention, he chooses to present the narrative as Truth, Told as Fiction.
